Strobes!
Yes, strobes...
Most of you know I love me some natural light. The way it can warm the hair. The way it hits the skin. The way it catches in the eye. I am constantly looking for it...beautiful light! And I feel like I have lost a friend during daylight savings time. In Spring, Summer and early Fall, I could care less about studio lighting. I honestly could NEVER see myself solely using studio lighting....Until I attended a workshop last Saturday with Will King Photography. Now, I would never cheat on Mr. Natural Light, but seeing the versatility of strobes, I can see myself using them from time to time.
About 20 photographers got together from various parts of Virginia to hear and learn about all the possibilities...strobes, soft boxes, umbrellas, beauty dishes, speed lights, feathering, gels, radio poppers and pocket wizards... oh my! My head was literally overflowing with new information. We had three lovely models, makeup artist and a kind and generous host, Kaileen Galhouse of Galhouse Photography.
Take a look at some of the shots from the workshop...These models were awesome!
Bekah....
I am loving the look of off camera flash.... this look is impossible to achieve with solely natural light....
I also took the time to play with some different effects in photoshop...hence the multiple edits!
